Suntory is a Japanese company that produces a wide range of beverages including beer, whiskey, non-alcoholic drinks and health drinks. Founded in 1899, it is the oldest distillery in Japan and is known for its high quality whiskey. Suntory also owns brands such as Orangina, Lucozade, Ribena and Schweppes. In 2009, Suntory merged with the Japanese beverage company, BEAM Inc., to form Suntory Beam Inc., and in 2014, the company acquired Beam Inc. and became Suntory Holdings Limited.
As for Suntory's relationship with the name "三得利", it is actually a separate company called Mitsui & Co., Ltd. that owns the trademark for "Suntory," with Suntory Holdings Limited being a subsidiary of Mitsui. Mitsui & Co., Ltd. also owns a sake brewery under the name "Suntory" and a number of other companies and brands in various industries.
