My own view is that neither social value nor personal accomplishments shouldhold swayin education; rather,equal emphasisshould be placed on being socially pragmatic and individually achieved. It is theinteractionof both that explains why daring young people enter the healthcare business and social work, which are physically demanding butemotionally rewarding. The same goes for activism and counselling, where exposition is both understandable and justified. If this were not the case, young brains would be mistakenly seen ashalf-finished goodscapable of being manufactured intostereotypesof entities. Worse, if education is centered on achieving one's personal goals,a false optimismmay emerge, neglecting a country'slooming problems.
